Char Cloth with Fat Wood and Cat Tails

Reconnect with the outdoors. Learn flint and steel practices. We have the supplies.

The Product

This particular batch is high quality denim rolled in roughly 36 inch strips about 2 inches wide. It also comes with very dry and explosive cat tails (cat tails are not always ready to burn, they have to be fluffy) as well as a stick of highly saturated pine resin, also known as fat wood. What I like to do is carve off very fine shavings of fat wood and engrain it into a pinch of cat tails. Then I'll take the char cloth and give it spark. Whether from ferro rod or flint and steel, once a spark hits the char cloth there is only using it, or snuffing it out. Place the newly lit cloth into the fat wood impregnated cat tails and you'll have a solid method to start any fire!

Who Makes It

Char Cloth For Sale is a hobby website by me, Justin Tucker, who develops websites full time at PerfectlyOptimized.com and HeadStormStudios.com. In my off time I like to be opposite of my career and stay connected with the outdoors as much as possible. When enjoying fires and playing bush craft, I like to make char cloth and collect other fire making materials. Over the years I've collected so much my better half wants me to throw it all away. By trying to sell it I now have an excuse to not throw it away. Thanks for helping me justify this bad habit by making a small purchase. And yes, if you are not happy FOR ANY REASON you may request a full refund.
